I asked him to show the courage of a Joseph Welch, who eventually stood up to Joseph McCarthy, asking him, “Have you no decency, sir”? When will a Republican stand up to Trump in a similar fashion? I keep going back & forth thinking I may actually get through to some Maga/Trump acolytes, but then in the next moment I think to myself that it’s hopeless, so why bother. It’s maddening to realize that we’re living in a Twilight Zone, Orwellian type episode, but still holding out hope that it will end eventually as did the nightmarish McCarthy era. Oy vey!
